May 22, 2024 Staff Update: 2024-2025 Organizational Chart and Realignment

Dear Colleagues—

Thank you for your commitment to being a vital member of Team BCPS. Together, we will continue to focus our resources of people, time, and funding closer to schools to create experiences that enable all students to achieve improved learning outcomes. We are reimagining our leadership structure to further strengthen the coordination, collaboration and strategic support for our schools and offices. The Fiscal Year 2025 organizational structure strategically aligns our work and focus on teaching and learning. FY25 includes the following changes:

Redesigned Roles

  • Executive Directors of Literacy and Humanities and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) will identify, coordinate, and evaluate the quality of curriculum, effectiveness of implementation, and efficacy of professional learning in improving student outcomes.
  • Executive Director, Employee Development will provide leadership, facilitation, coordination, and evaluation of high-quality professional learning and training programs across all divisions to ensure employees have the necessary skills to meet the changing needs of Team BCPS.
  • Executive Director, Applications & Network Security Support Services will be responsible for applications, network security and support services, and quality assurance to schools and offices.
  • Executive Director, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Information Technology Operations will lead with specific focus on ERP and technology operations, including service and support to schools and offices.

Realignment

Effective July 1, 2024, the Division of Technology will transition to the Department of Information Technology and report to the Chief Operating Officer (see below). Organizational Development and Leadership will merge with Employee Development.

I believe these redesigned roles as well as the streamlined central office and leadership structure will make us more efficient and effective in serving our students, staff, schools and community. A more detailed organization chart that includes names and contact information will be provided in June.

I look forward to our continued work together on behalf of our students.

Regards,

Dr. Myriam Rogers
Superintendent
