The Office of Facilities Support Services is responsible for providing facilities maintenance and groundskeeping services to all Baltimore County School facilities. The focus of this office is to provide timely customer service which includes, but is not limited to, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, general maintenance, relocatable repairs, indoor environmental quality management. building security, contract management, grounds maintenance and beautification, snow removal, and blacktop and concrete repairs. This office maintains a 24/7/365 emergency call center to monitor all building systems and immediately dispatch facility related emergencies to ensure optimum learning environments are always provided. This office focuses on providing services that support the Superintendent’s Compass, Our Pathway to Excellence Focus Areas and Key Initiatives in Operational Excellence. This office is responsible for maintaining over 16,500,000 square feet of building space and approximately 4,000 acres of school and office grounds. An average of 40,000 requests for service are received yearly.
Additionally, this office is also responsible for providing a comprehensive energy management and sustainability program. This includes tracking and analyzing energy consumption in all BCPS facilities, encouraging environmental stewardship, and promoting a systemwide culture of sustainability.
