EAMP (Employee Attendance Monitoring Program)

[email protected]

The EAMP monitors the use of intermittent personal and family illness absences for employees at risk of failing to meet the BCPS Employee Attendance Standard (EAS). The purpose of the program is to provide employees with information and resources to help employees avoid disciplinary action. Many employees who enter the EAMP may qualify for intermittent FMLA leave.

EAMP Requirements
Requirements and standards related to the IDM may be found in Board of Education Policy and Superintendent's Rule 4203: Absences and Leaves. For more information see the EAMP Quick Reference Guide .

Timekeeping & Coding
Supervisors and timekeepers remain responsible for timekeeping and coding throughout the course of the employee's absence.  For more information see the Supervisors Guide for Employees on Leave.

  • Coding: Employee absences need to be correctly coded to avoid payroll issues.
    • Personal Illness Code 'A' is only used when an employee confirms their absence is or was due to personal illness.
    • Family Illness Code 'B' is only used when an employee confirms their absence is or was due to a family illness.
    • Unpaid – Code 'M' is used if the employee has not confirmed that an absence is or was due to personal or family illness.
  • To correct payroll coding errors, contact the Office of Payroll at 443-809-4240.
  • An employee who has been off work due to personal illness or family illness needs to be coded as such, even if the employee has exhausted their time.
