ESOL Elementary Program
Elementary English learners receive English language instruction from a highly qualified ESOL teacher at their home schools. Students receive either direct English language instruction outside of the grade-level classroom or English language support from the ESOL teacher within the grade-level classroom. The type of instruction varies based on students' language needs.
Elementary ESOL teachers are generally assigned to a cluster of schools within a geographic area and develop an instructional schedule with the other cluster teachers to best meet the language needs of the students within the cluster. At schools with larger populations of English learners there may be full time ESOL teachers assigned.
