The Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) is a part of the Offices of Career & Technical Education (CTE) and is responsible for providing a course in leadership education designed to improve the learner’s interpersonal skills by developing character, self-discipline, and responsible citizenship which will lead to better career opportunities and lifelong learning.

The Baltimore County JROTC Program is comprised of four different and distinct military services that make up a total of eight JROTC Programs:

Air Force JROTC: Kenwood High School
Army JROTC: Lansdowne High School 
Patapsco High School
Marine Corps JROTC: Franklin High School
Parkville High School
Navy JROTC: Dundalk High School
Randallstown High School
Woodlawn High School

Additionally, the Baltimore County JROTC program:

  • Instills a sense of value in citizenship
  • Provides service to the United States
  • Develops personal responsibility
  • Develops a sense of accomplishment
  • Does not seek any particular commitment to the military
  • Strengthen character
  • Teaches discipline
  • Promotes understanding of national security
