Professional Learning Liaison Program

The Professional Learning Liaison (PLL) is identified by the principal as a teacher leader who is interested in adult learning and professional development. The PLL will provide professional development and support in schools without a Staff Development Teacher position/FTE. The Professional Learning Liaison will:

  • attend monthly Staff Development Teacher professional learning meetings
  • provide professional development consultation to school administrators
  • communicate professional learning opportunities to school staff
  • collaborate with school-based colleagues in professional learning communities

PLLs will attend monthly Staff Development Teacher professional learning meetings in order to enhance their ability to provide effective support to students, teachers, administrators, and staff. The full day of in-person professional learning will occur once per month and PLLs should plan to secure substitute coverage through Other Board Business days. Professional Learning Liaisons will be added to the SDT distribution list and will receive weekly newsletters and invitations to SDT meetings.  The PLL will receive the TABCO negotiated rate of facilitator payment for leading up to 5 hours (outside of regular workday hours) of professional development per SDT/PLL meeting.

Principals will select one PLL to represent and serve their school. The Office of Teacher Leadership will send a form via the Principal’s Weekly Newsletter at the end of August each school year.
