ESOL Academic Program

Since 2015, the Office of ESOL has been rewriting curricula across grade levels.  The new curricula aim to provide English language instruction across the language domains of reading, writing, speaking and listening and build academic language across content areas.  By incorporating authentic tasks associated with each instructional unit, students must use academic language in an real world manner.

  • English language learners communicate information, ideas and concepts necessary for academic success in the content area of Mathematics
  • English language learners communicate information, ideas and concepts necessary for academic success in the content area of Science
  • English language learners communicate information, ideas and concepts necessary for academic success in the content area of Social Studies
