We will be posting a new graduating senior profile each day leading up to May 26, the last day for seniors.
Graduating Senior: Tyler Strohman

Tyler Strohman

George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology (Carney Elementary, Pine Grove Middle)

Tell us about a teacher, assignment, field trip, or extracurricular activity that had a significant impact on you during your years as a BCPS student?

One teacher who has had a significant impact on me is Ms. Lori Brewer, our Athletic Director. She told me how good I was at sports and got my confidence up when I needed it. Also if I needed help with something, I could always rely on her to help.

During your years as a BCPS student, what did you accomplish that you are most proud of?

One thing that I have accomplished was getting accepted to Carver. I am so proud of that because I wanted to do carpentry, and I went through the rigorous audition and was accepted to the school.

What’s next for you? What are your college or employment plans immediately after graduation?

What I am going to do after graduation is go to CCBC and get all the general education classes completed. After two years, I am going to go to a 4-year college to major in construction management.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I see myself being respected and admired in the construction world.  Personally, I see myself having a family and being a great husband and father.

“Tyler is a hardworking, friendly, and dedicated student. He is a member of the varsity soccer and baseball teams and is a manager for girls’ basketball. On any given day, you will find Tyler at an athletic event, school play, or any other number of school activities supporting his classmates. He helps set up for any and all home athletic events. Tyler is very humble and never asks or expects recognition for anything he does, and he has been the behind-the-scenes success of this year’s sports awards ceremonies.”

Lori Brewer, CAA, Athletic Director
