A Pleasant Week at Pleasant Plains Elementary School
Pleasant Plains Elementary students are among many who participated in the Baltimore County Public Schools’ Bullying Prevention Week activities in March. They engaged students in two kindness assemblies led by the behavior interventionist, Robb Berkenkemper, and school counselor, Trisha Voegtlin. The instrumental music teacher, Christa Hise, created an anti-bullying rap video.
Students signed posters in order to "Take a Stand and Lend a Hand" to stop
bullying in all schools. The teachers led lessons in which the students shared the kindnesses that they witnessed within their classrooms. Students then created
kindness chains. Under the direction of Kerry Raup, Pre-Kindergarten teacher, the Pre-Kindergarten students had the longest links. All of the links, from all of the classes, were joined together and then draped throughout the lobby of the school. This visual reminder will continue to grow throughout the rest of the year.
