Who:  Baltimore County Public School students recommended for high school credit recovery or credit advancement in this summer’s Extended Year Learning Program (EYLP). Seats are limited. Enrollment is on a first come basis. Students can access additional opportunities for credit recovery and advancement through their school’s SPARC program or regional Extended Day Learning Programs (EDLP).

What: Students earn high school credits by interacting with the teacher, their classmates, and instructional materials using a computer and the Internet. This blended learning program is self-paced and mastery-based, allowing students to progress through one course at a time to satisfy graduation requirements.

Where: Your local high school.

When: July 5, 2017 – July 28, 2017

Non-BCPS High School Students
may apply for a seat at a local high school. The application will be available here on March 2, 2017.

Who:  Baltimore County Public School students recommended for reading and mathematics skill and knowledge development in this summer’s Extended Year Learning Program (EYLP). Seats are limited. Enrollment is on a first come basis.

What: Students participate in research-based reading and mathematics programs designed to meet the specific instructional needs of each student. Each day will include two hours of reading and two hours of mathematics in which students rotate among different stations.

  • Online programs using pre-assessments to prescribe targeted individualized learning experiences
  • Project-based activities engaging students in deeper learning experiences
  • Teacher-led individualized instruction providing feedback as students progress through each concept

Attendance: In order to meet MSDE regulations for blended learning, students must attend class unless prevented by illness, death in the family, or court-related matters.

  • Students having more than four absences will be withdrawn
  • Three days late for thirty minutes to 1½ hours will constitute one absence 
  • Students who miss more than 1 ½ hours in a school day will be marked absent for the whole day.
  • Parent/Guardian will be contacted by phone when students are marked absent

Transportation:Parent/Guardian must indicate the need for transportation and a bus stop on the EYLP High School Enrollment form.  Late enrollments may not be guaranteed transportation.  Exact program, pick-up, and drop-off times will be available on this Educational Options website or Summer Programs Hotline 443-809-9855 on or before June 19, 2017.

Special Education: Students enrolled in the Extended Year Learning Program currently receiving special education services will only be provided with testing modifications and classroom accommodations during EYLP.

Non-BCPS students may access high school courses during our localized Extended Year Leaning Program (EYLP) where seats are available.  Most full credit courses take an average of 180 hours to complete.  Students who do not complete the course by the end of EYLP will have the option to complete the course in the fall at EDLP. BCPS can only provide a report card grade.  We cannot provide transcripts. The EYLP Application for Non-BCPS students will be available here on May 8, 2017.  Non-BCPS students will be offered available seats beginning May 30, 2017. Offers will be made in the order the applications were received. Payment for the course is required when the seat is offered and the student is registered.

Non-Baltimore County Residents
One Credit Course $425
Half Credit Course $300

Payment will be required when the student has accepted a seat.  We will accept checks, money order, credit cards, or a copy of the student’s current Medical Assistance card as a waiver.
