BCPS employs thousands of support personnel in a variety of job classifications who work as team members to accomplish the goals and initiatives in Blueprint 2.0: Our Way Forward. Support staff are essential members of Team BCPS and responsible for ensuring the successful completion of a variety of duties and responsibilities that support the instructional program and implement non-instructional programs and services that are necessary to the effectiveness and success of the organization.
Instructional support employees are an integral part of the educational process by performing a variety of jobs that promote quality education and foster positive learning environments for all students. Instructional support positions include: Paraeducators and Additional Assistants.
Non-instructional support staff implement business operations and create and maintain safe and secure learning and work environments. Non-instructional support staff members include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ten- and twelve-month office professionals
- School bus attendants, drivers, and other transportation staff
- Cafeteria and food services staff
- Building service workers
- Grounds workers
- Maintenance workers
- Engineering and construction employees
- Logistics workers
- Environmental services employees
- Safety and security employees
