Relief Strategies Update in the Northeast Area

With the support of the Board of Education, Baltimore County Government, and the State Delegation, BCPS is in the midst of a 1.3 billion dollar Schools for Our Future capital plan to add capacity to support increasing enrollment and to improve facilities, including accelerating the process of air-conditioning all schools.

The construction of a new northeast area elementary school located near the intersection of Joppa Road and Honeygo Boulevard is underway. It will open for students in the 2018-2019 school year.  The boundary process for the new northeast area elementary school will start in September 2017 and a recommendation will be presented to the Board of Education for a decision in March 2018.

Schools participating in the Northeast Area Elementary Community Boundary Study include:

  • Chapel Hill Elementary School
  • Gunpowder Elementary School
  • Joppa View Elementary School
  • Kingsville Elementary School
  • Perry Hall Elementary School
  • Seven Oaks Elementary School
  • Vincent Farm Elementary School
