The Office of Mathematics PreK-12 contributes to the system’s expectation through its commitment to engage all students in mathematics. The PreK-12 Mathematics curriculum focuses on problem solving, communication, and critical thinking in order to provide a foundation where every student reaches their potential to become a globally competitive, mathematically literate citizen.
The Office of Mathematics PreK-12:
- Develops mathematics curriculum in order to ensure program implementation integrity and rigorous mathematics instruction for all students.
- Provides continuous and meaningful professional learning opportunities for mathematics teachers in order to build school instructional capacity.
- Supports teachers as they teach for deep conceptual understanding, procedural skill and fluency, and application of mathematics content.
- Shares an appreciation of mathematics with students, parents, and the community.
