Welcome, New Teachers!

While most information relevant to employees is located on the BCPS Intranet, new teachers who do not yet have BCPS email accounts can find important information and reminders on this web page.

If you have accepted a position with BCPS, please apply for your BCPS e-mail account on your very first day of employment.  Your BCPS e-mail account will enable you to access digital curriculum resources through the BCPS Intranet.

BCPS’ curriculum is aligned to Maryland College and Career Ready Standards.

The office directory provides contact information for offices within BCPS.

Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities…

  • New Teacher Fall Seminar

Want some fresh ideas for managing your classroom?  Strategies for differentiating your lessons to meet the needs of your students?  Support to help you prepare for upcoming parent conferences? These and other topics will be part of New Teacher Fall Seminar 2014. Join us for professional learning and collaboration with other new teachers.

Teachers hired for 2014–2015, as well as teachers who were hired for 2013–2014 but were unable to attend Fall Seminar 2013, are welcome to attend.  Schools are responsible for providing necessary substitute coverage, so check with your principal before registering. Registration will continue through October 3.

  • “Unraveling the Mysteries of the CIA: Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment”
The Office of Organizational Development is offering this 3-credit course to all new teachers. In this course, participants will:
